Mangaluru, Mar 23: A massive protest has been organized on March 24 at 10 am at Freedom Park in Bengaluru opposing the internal reservation roster allocation. The protest will be led by Sri Immadi Siddarameshwara Mahaswamiji of the Chitradurga Bhovi Gurupitha and will be held with the participation of members from Bhovi, Banjara, Korama, Koracha, Chalavadi, and Chammakar sub-communities, said Bhovi community leader Pavan Kumar during a press conference on Monday.

He alleged that the data included in the report of the internal reservation commission headed by justice H N Nagamohan Das is biased. He said the leaked report contains incomplete, unscientific, unclear, and unjust recommendations.

He demanded that the government release comprehensive survey data collected over the last 50 years regarding the socio-economic conditions of 101 communities listed under Scheduled Castes. He also urged the government to provide time for objections from all 101 Scheduled Caste communities regarding the report.

He further stated that the report has caused injustice to communities such as Chalavadi, Banjara, Bhovi, Korama, Koracha, Chammakar, and Samagara. He demanded that the government form a new commission to correct the injustice and hold a meeting with leaders of all communities. As the government has not responded to these demands, the protest has been organized, he said.

He also alleged that due to these issues, members of the Bhovi community in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are not being issued caste certificates.
