300 power lifters to participate in state-level competition; cash prize of Rs 24 lacs

Mangaluru, Mar 22: The Karnataka Amateur Powerlifting Association will organize a state-level powerlifting championship in Mangaluru. Around 300 powerlifters from across the state are expected to participate in the competition.

The championship will be held on March 24 and will include competitions in various categories such as men, women, junior, and senior divisions. Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes totalling Rs 24 lac, along with medals and certificates.

Speaking at a press conference, the organizers said that the main objective of the event is to encourage powerlifting in the state and provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talent. The association is working towards promoting strength sports and supporting athletes at the state and national levels.

Several office bearers of the Powerlifting Association were present at the press meet and shared details about the event schedule, participation, and prize distribution. They also requested the public and sports enthusiasts to support and encourage the athletes by attending the event.

The organizers expressed confidence that the championship will be successful and help in identifying talented powerlifters from Karnataka.
