Mumbai, Mar 21: Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited has retained its position as India’s top-ranked power distribution utility for the second consecutive year, achieving a score of 92.5 in the latest national assessment.

The company, part of the Adani Group, received an A+ rating among 66 electricity distribution companies, driven by strong performance in supply reliability, billing accuracy, and grievance redressal, according to an official statement.

Managing Director and CEO Kandarp Patel said the recognition reflects operational consistency and the trust of consumers in Mumbai. He added that the company remains committed to delivering uninterrupted, efficient, and resilient power supply.

The rankings are part of the Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) and Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD), released by the Ministry of Power in collaboration with REC Limited.

The report highlights a broader shift in India’s power distribution sector toward performance-driven operations, with improvements in efficiency, financial discipline, and consumer services. Six utilities secured A+ ratings this year, with no company falling into the lowest category.

Adani Electricity’s strong showing was supported by its focus on digitalisation, advanced metering, resource planning, and operational efficiency. The utility serves over 30 lakh consumers in Mumbai, prioritising transparency and responsiveness.

Other top-performing utilities included Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Noida Power Company Limited, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking, reflecting a competitive mix of private and state-run players.

The latest rankings underscore the sector’s evolution toward better governance, technology adoption, and customer-focused outcomes.
