Pavitra Punia takes on dark, suspenseful role in OTT series “Zung”

Mumbai, Mar 18: Actor Pavitra Punia is set to explore a new dimension in her acting career with the upcoming original series Zung on Hungama OTT, where she will appear in a powerful new avatar as Kaveri.

The series follows the story of Kaveri, a lonely housewife stuck in an unhappy marriage whose life takes a dramatic turn when she tries to escape the monotony of her daily routine. What begins as a moment of emotional vulnerability gradually pulls her into a complex and dangerous world involving manipulation, crime and high-risk decisions. As the situation spirals beyond her control, Kaveri must confront harsh realities and decide whether she has the courage to reclaim her life.

Speaking about the project, Pavitra said the character is unlike anything she has portrayed before. According to her, the role stands out among all her previous performances because of its emotional depth and suspenseful narrative.

The actor, who gained popularity after appearing in Bigg Boss 14, revealed that she prepared extensively for the role by watching several thriller films to better understand the tension and intensity required for the genre.

She said the script immediately captured her interest because of its unpredictable storyline and numerous twists that keep viewers guessing in every episode.

Alongside Pavitra, the series also features Sandeep Anand, Aabhas Mehta and Zohaiib Asshraf in important roles.

“Zung” is scheduled to premiere on the platform on Wednesday. Off-screen, Pavitra has also been in the spotlight recently after announcing her engagement to Jaskomal Singh, sharing pictures of the romantic proposal with her followers on social media.
