Udupi, Mar 16: A man was found dead in a lodge near the old government bus stand in Puttur here on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Jinson P M, a resident of Nelyadi. He had reportedly taken a room at a lodge located near the old government bus stand in the town.
According to police, Jinson allegedly died by suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan due to personal reasons.
Officials from the Puttur Town Police Station, including station house officer Bharatesh, ASI Narayan and assistant sub-inspector Vijay, visited the spot and conducted the inquest proceedings.
Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu assisted in shifting the body to the district hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
