Milagres College of Nursing marks International Women’s Day with wellness programme

Mangaluru, Mar 9: Milagres College of Nursing observed International Women’s Day on March 7 by organizing a meaningful wellness programme dedicated to celebrating and promoting the well-being of women. The programme brought together teaching and non-teaching staff of the Milagres family in a spirit of appreciation, reflection, and empowerment.

The event commenced with a prayer song that set a calm and reflective tone for the gathering. Deepika, assistant lecturer, extended a warm welcome to the participants and dignitaries present.

The highlight of the programme was an enriching session by the resource person, Shravya Naik, HR professional and yoga and meditation coach from Roshni Nilaya. Speaking on the theme 'Nurturing the Nurturer', she emphasized the importance of women’s mental health and well-being. Through her interactive session, she shared practical techniques of yoga and meditation to help manage stress and maintain emotional balance, encouraging participants to incorporate these practices into their daily lives.

Principal Diana Lobo, in her address, underscored the significance of mental health among women and highlighted the need for self-care, especially for women who continuously nurture families, students, and society. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, president and correspondent, inspired the gathering with his motivating words, appreciating the invaluable contributions of women to society and in shaping the lives of students.

Around 75 members of the Milagres family participated in the programme, making the celebration both inspiring and memorable. The event concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of holistic well-being and the empowerment of women. The programme was effectively compered by Alisiya Frontero.
