Udupi, Mar 8: Celebrating International Women’s Day, The Original Abharan organized ‘Abharan Sundari’, an exclusive fashion show on March 7 at Manipal Inn, Udupi.
Ankita Amar, renowned actress and singer inaugurated the show through a traditional lamp lighting ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Ankita Amar said that just as jewellery comes in different designs, a woman’s life too is designed in many unique ways. She noted that a woman’s life flows through various stages, much like the forms of the Navadurga. She said jewellery holds a special place in the hearts of women. “Jewellery brings a sense of energy to the body and supports the many emotions of a woman. Jewellery is not merely an ornament; it is a symbol of culture and tradition,” she said.

Ankita Amar launched the fashion show by performing a ramp walk to the tune of the devotional song ‘Govinda Jaya Jaya Gopala Jaya Jaya’. She also remarked that the spirit of Women’s Day should be reflected in the slogan, “From us to you, and from you to us.”
Speaking on the occasion, Sandhya Kamath of Abharan said that all those gathered at the event were not just associates but like family members. “They are as dear to us as treasured ornaments. Jewellery, attire and adornment bring joy to life. The harmony between them reflects the essence of the song ‘Silence is the ornament, and a smile is the moonlight,’ which perfectly captures the spirit of today’s ‘Abharan Sundari’ fashion show,” she said.
On the occasion, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, and Purushotam Shetty of Ujwal Developers were felicitated on the occasion.
