Kamareddy, Mar 8: Three young girls were found dead in a water tank in Telangana’s Kamareddy district on Saturday, with police suspecting that their father may have pushed them into the reservoir.

The victims, aged 8, 7 and 5, were residents of Kamareddy. According to police, the children had gone out with their father earlier in the day to buy snacks from a nearby grocery store but failed to return home.

When the girls remained missing for several hours, family members began searching for them and later approached the police. A missing case was registered and a search operation was launched, with three special teams formed to trace the children.

During the investigation, suspicion fell on the father, police sources said. Authorities suspect that he may have pushed the girls into the water tank, although officials said further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Search teams combed the reservoir and recovered the bodies of two of the girls during the operation. The search continued for the eldest child, whose body was later found in the tank.

The recovery of the bodies led to scenes of grief at the site, with the children’s mother breaking down as the bodies were brought out.

The search and recovery operation was carried out under the supervision of Chaitanya Reddy, Assistant Superintendent of Police of the Kamareddy sub-division.

The incident has sent shockwaves across Kamareddy, with residents gathering near the water tank and demanding a thorough investigation into the deaths of the three sisters.
