Bantwal police arrest Andhra man evading court in high-interest fraud case

Mangaluru, Mar 7: Bantwal police have arrested a man who had been evading court proceedings in a fraud case related to collecting money from the public with promises of high interest.

The accused, Lakku Konda Reddy (46), a resident of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, had allegedly collected money from the public in 2015 under the banner of Maitri Plantation and Horticulture Pvt Ltd, promising high returns. After defrauding investors, he went into hiding and failed to appear in court since 2018.

Acting on information about his whereabouts, Bantwal police arrested Reddy on Thursday and produced him before the court to continue legal proceedings in the long-pending case.
