Mangaluru, Mar 5: The Departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications of St Agnes College (Autonomous) in association with Vana Charitable Trust, organised the valedictory programme of the “BeResponsible” E-Waste Collection Drive and “Soleful Steps” on March 4, marking the successful completion of the month-long environmental initiatives held from  January 31 to February 28, 2026.

The chief guest Jeeth Milan Roche, secretary of Vana Charitable Trust, is an environmentalist known for his work in tree plantation, urban forest development and waste management, appreciated the efforts of the college in promoting responsible citizenship among students. He highlighted the importance of conscious consumption, proper waste segregation and increased environmental awareness among the youth.

A key highlight of the programme was the symbolic disposal of e-waste and footwear into designated collection boxes by the dignitaries, emphasising responsible waste management and sustainable habits in everyday life.

The programme was attended by heads of departments, coordinators, faculty members, support staff and students. The event concluded with a reminder that the true success of such initiatives lies in the awareness created and the values strengthened among students towards sustainable living.
