Arjun Pandian assumes charge as new Kasargod district collector

Kasargod, Mar 4: Arjun Pandian assumed charge as the new district collector of Kasargod district on Tuesday. He took over from outgoing district collector K Imbashaker.

District additional magistrate P Akhil, district information officer Madhusoodanan, and officials from various departments were present on the occasion.

The state government had issued orders appointing Pandian, who was serving as the district collector of Thrissur district, as the district collector of Kasargod.

Arjun Pandian, a 2017-batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, has previously served in several key positions including staff officer to the chief secretary of the state, labour commissioner, sub-collector of Kannur, sub-collector of Ottappalam and Mananthavady, nodal officer in Attappadi, development commissioner of Idukki, additional district magistrate of Sabarimala, joint commissioner in the revenue department, state land revenue secretary, secretary of the housing board, and director of the scheduled caste development department.

During his tenure as Thrissur district collector, he earned recognition as one of the best district collectors in the state.

Speaking after assuming charge, Pandian said Kasargod district has immense potential for development and is known for its multilingual culture. He stated that plans would be formulated after holding discussions with district officials and staff. He also assured that efforts would be made to address the grievances of the general public and that the projects initiated by K Imbashaker would be continued.

Pandian expressed that he was taking charge as the v of Kasargod with great expectations and a commitment to serve the district effectively.
