Mangaluru, Feb 25: In a traditional wedding ceremony, serving sweets to guests is an integral custom. However, the modern trend of using plastic boxes and covers for this purpose has led to significant environmental concerns. To address this, a unique eco-friendly initiative was witnessed at a wedding held in Kinnigoli.

The wedding of Rakshitha and Murthy KR, held at the Saraf Annappaiah Acharya Sabha Bhavan recently, stood out for its commitment to the environment. Instead of conventional plastic packaging, the hosts distributed sweets to guests in boxes made entirely from areca leaf.

At a time when plastic waste has become a global menace, this celebration proved that environmental responsibility can be seamlessly integrated into joyful occasions like weddings. The initiative has received widespread appreciation from the guests and the local community for setting a positive example of sustainability.
