Assagao (Goa), Feb 24: A 65-year-old tourist from Bhopal was killed after a speeding four-wheeler allegedly driven by female tourists rammed into his hatchback in Assagao on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagat Ram Sharma, a native of Bhopal. According to police, he sustained fatal injuries in the impact and was declared dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the occupants of the speeding vehicle were allegedly attempting to switch seats while the car was still in motion, resulting in the driver losing control. Authorities are probing the claim and piecing together the exact sequence of events that led to the crash.

In what police described as a miraculous escape, a baby who was inside Sharma’s car at the time of the collision remained unharmed.

Personnel from the Goa Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and have initiated a detailed inquiry. Further action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
