Constitution Preamble to be installed in 700 cooperative institutions in Udupi

Udupi, Feb 13: Installation of the Constitution Preamble in nearly 700 cooperative societies, banks and milk producers’ association offices across the district has begun as per government orders, said Sangolli Somanna, president of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Grameena Seva Abhivruddhi Samsthe.

Addressing a press meet on Thursday, he stated that as per directives from the Central and State governments, the contract to install the Constitution Preamble in government institutions across districts has been entrusted to their NGO.

He said the process has already been completed in 24 districts and has now commenced in Udupi district covering cooperative societies and milk producers’ association offices. Deputy commissioner Swarupa T K has launched the initiative in the district. The Preamble will be supplied as per the list provided by the district administration.

Somanna said the government has specified the size and fixed the fee for installation. The team will visit institutions, provide details and request them to install the Preamble accordingly. The process is expected to be completed within the next four to five months.

He added that the initiative will soon be extended to Dakshina Kannada district.

District coordinators Vidyalakshmi, Parthasarathi, Ashwini, Vanitha and Suma Acharya were present.
