Udupi, Feb 11: A bus agent allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near his residence on the road connecting Bannanje Garadi. The incident is believed to have occurred due to mental depression.

The deceased has been identified as K Rajesh Shenoy.

According to sources, Rajesh Shenoy was reportedly suffering from mental stress for some time. On Wednesday, he is said to have jumped into a nearby well, leading to his death.

The body was retrieved from the well by a team led by Ishwar Malpe. Social worker Nityananda Volakad helped in shifting the body to the district hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

City police sub-inspector Narayana and Head Constable Netavati visited the spot and completed the legal procedures.
