Bengaluru, Feb 11: Senior Kannada actress Sudharani has been appointed as the new brand ambassador of ‘Nandini’, one of Karnataka’s most trusted and iconic dairy brands.

The Bengaluru Milk Union Ltd (BAMUL), a key constituent of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), officially announced Sudharani’s appointment as the brand ambassador for Nandini products. The information was shared by BAMUL president D K Suresh through a social media post.

“Nandini products needed a credible and trustworthy personality to take the brand’s values to the people. Sudharani’s simplicity and strong family appeal will add new strength to the quality and credibility of Nandini products. We warmly welcome her to the BAMUL family,” Suresh said.

The association between the Nandini brand and the Kannada film industry has a long and respected history. Legendary actor Dr Rajkumar was the first brand ambassador in 1996. Following him, his sons Puneeth Rajkumar and Shivrajkumar also served as brand ambassadors, with Puneeth Rajkumar doing so without accepting any remuneration. With Sudharani’s appointment, the brand hopes to further strengthen its connect with consumers.

Expressing her happiness over the new role, Sudharani said it was a matter of pride and responsibility to represent a brand that symbolises trust for generations of Kannadigas.

“Nandini has been a symbol of trust for every Kannadiga for generations. Getting the opportunity to associate with BAMUL Nandini, a farmers’ cooperative institution, is a great honour for me,” she wrote on social media.

Recalling the legacy of the brand, she said following in the footsteps of stalwarts like Dr Rajkumar, Shivrajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar as brand ambassador was not just an imitation but a privilege and a proud responsibility.

Sudharani said the core objective of Nandini is to protect indigenous cattle, ensure fair prices for farmers and deliver quality, trustworthy products to consumers. She added that the new chapter includes products such as A2 ghee and A2 milk made from indigenous cows.

“This movement embodies values of tradition, purity and farmers’ welfare. It honours our roots, uplifts farmers and carries Karnataka’s heritage forward to future generations. I am immensely proud to support this initiative,” she said.
