One-day workshop on placement preparation for First Year MSW students held at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Feb 9: On January 22, 2026, the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, Mukka, Surathkal, Mangalore, organized a one-day workshop on Placement Preparation for First Year MSW students. The programme aimed to equip students with essential skills required for campus placements and professional interviews.

The resource persons for the workshop were Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce & Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, and Ravi Kumar, placement officer, Srinivas University.

The workshop commenced with an aptitude test session, followed by an interactive group discussion and mock interview sessions. These activities helped students to understand recruitment procedures, improve their communication skills, develop confidence, and enhance their problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

The programme was graced by the presence of Prof Joyson Prenky Cardoza, head, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr Laveena D’Mello, professor, Dr Stutima Basista, and Prof Ranjith Bhat, assistant professor. Their guidance and encouragement motivated the students to actively engage in all the sessions.

Students participated enthusiastically and expressed that the workshop was highly beneficial in understanding real-time interview situations and employer expectations. Overall, the workshop was a great success and contributed significantly to strengthening the employability skills of MSW students.
