Pennsylvania, Feb 5: Emergency crews worked through the night to control a fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City, prompting the evacuation of all patients, staff, and visitors, officials said. The blaze reportedly engulfed part of the hospital, including the Orthopedic Institute, with flames visible from the top of the building in video footage shared online.
A hospital spokesperson confirmed that everyone on-site was safely evacuated, and emergency responders continued operations into early Thursday morning.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro expressed gratitude to first responders on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Thank you to every first responder running toward danger to help their fellow Pennsylvanians. Lori and I are praying for the staff, patients, their families, and the entire community tonight.”
U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan Jr., whose district includes Dickson City, also commended the swift actions of responders and hospital staff, noting their efforts ensured the safety and well-being of all involved.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Dickson City is located approximately 6 miles north of Scranton. Emergency teams from the state police, emergency management agency, and health department were all mobilized to handle the situation.
