Udupi: Kalsanka bridge free left turn work launched at cost of Rs 49 lac

Udupi, Feb 2: The widening of the Kalsanka Junction bridge to facilitate a free left turn towards Ambagilu, being undertaken at a cost of Rs 49 lac through the Udupi City Municipal Council, was launched by Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

Speaking on the occasion to mark the commencement of the project, MLA Yashpal Suvarna said that the free left turn facility at Kalsanka Junction had been a long-pending demand of the public. With the aim of easing traffic congestion in Udupi city, funds amounting to Rs 49 lac have been sanctioned through the city municipality for this project.

He stated that once the work is completed, vehicles travelling from Kalsanka Junction towards Ambagilu will experience smoother traffic flow. The project is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and provide relief from frequent traffic jams in the area.

Former Udupi City Municipal Council president Prabhakar Poojary, corporators Balakrishna Shetty, T G Hegde, Girish Anchan, Sundar Kalmadi, Jayanti Poojary, Ashok Nayak, Giridhar Acharya, Lakshmi Manjunath, Savitha Harish Ram, Bharathi Prashanth, Manasa C Pai, Anita D’Souza, Udupi City BJP president Dinesh Amin, general secretary Jagadish Acharya Kappettu, Rashmitha Shetty, Yuva Morcha president Shrivatsa, and leaders Kishore Karamballi, Dayashini, among others, were present on the occasion.
