Mumbai, Feb 2: Actor Alia Bhatt has touched hearts after sharing a deeply personal letter she wrote to her younger self, featured in a special video released by Esquire India. In the emotional clip, Alia is seen addressing the little girl she once was, offering reassurance, warmth and gentle life advice.
Beginning on an encouraging note, Alia urged her younger self to never stop dreaming. “Dear little me, I know you’re always dreaming. Please don’t stop doing that. The dreamer in you is your superpower,” she said, reflecting on learning to trust her instincts even when the future felt uncertain.

She also spoke candidly about love, asking her younger self not to shed tears over a school-time heartbreak. “Please don’t cry over that stupid boy in high school, it’s not worth it,” she said, adding that one day she would meet “the best boy in the world,” a clear reference to her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor. Alia described him as her “safest place” and “best friend,” who loves her with “respect, comfort, peace and laughter.”
The most emotional moment came when Alia spoke about motherhood and her daughter Raha. “You’re going to have the most beautiful daughter in the world and your heart will grow in ways that you cannot imagine,” she said, ending the note with a playful line, “She’s also going to be a little lawyer, so prep up.”
Alia also used the letter to reflect on family bonds. She encouraged her younger self to express more appreciation for her mother Soni Razdan, especially her cooking, noting that the depth of a mother’s love is truly understood only later in life. Speaking about her sister Shaheen Bhatt, Alia said she would one day become her best friend and should never be taken for granted.
Turning to her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Alia advised her younger self to spend more time with him, adding that shared moments and memories would eventually mean more than professional achievements.
Reacting to the video, Soni Razdan commented, “Ohhhh. How beautiful this is. Alia… Really beautiful.”
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were married on April 14, 2022, at their Mumbai residence and welcomed their daughter Raha on November 6 the same year.
