Bantwal: Two held after 56-year-old assaulted by three masked men, mobile phone handset stolen

Bantwal, Feb 1: A 56-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by three masked men while walking in the Marnamigudde area on the evening of January 31. The attackers reportedly struck him with their hands and a stick, causing injuries, and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing.

The victim, Isubu, a resident of Padnuru village in Vittal, Bantwal taluk, lodged a complaint with Vittal police station. “Three masked men stopped me and attacked me with a stick and by hand. They took my mobile phone and ran away,” he told the police.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under Crime No. 22/2026, Sections 126(2), 115(2), 118(2), 309(4), and 3(5) BNS–2023, and launched an investigation.

During the probe, authorities apprehended two accused, identified as K Raveesh Kulal (40) and Ashok (42).

Further legal action will be taken against them.
