Mumbai, Jan 31: Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Border 2’ continues its strong run at the box office, emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters of the season despite witnessing a slowdown after the Republic Day weekend.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the patriotic war drama has now crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide, while its India collection stands at over Rs 235.25 crore so far.

After a robust first week, the film saw a dip on Day 8 (Friday), earning around Rs 11 crore, indicating a post-holiday drop.
The overall theatre occupancy on Friday stood at 15.05 per cent.

• Evening shows: 16.71%
• Night shows: 23.65%
In key markets, Mumbai saw the film running across 851 shows with an occupancy of 21 per cent, while the Delhi-NCR region recorded 1,270 shows with occupancy at 14.67 per cent.
‘Mardaani 3’ opens, but ‘Border 2’ holds steady
Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani 3’, which released on January 30, opened with Rs 3.8 crore on its first day. However, the new release has not significantly dented ‘Border 2’ momentum so far.

‘Border 2’ features an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’ and is produced by Nidhi Dutta along with Bhushan Kumar.
