Udupi, Jan 31: In a significant move to prioritise patient convenience and expand healthcare accessibility, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal has officially announced the introduction of evening clinics at the Dr Ramdas M Pai Block with effect from Monday, February 2.
Recognising the evolving needs of the community, these extended hours are specifically designed to bridge the gap for individuals who find it challenging to seek medical attention during traditional working hours. Effective immediately, the clinics will operate on all working days from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Initially, the evening services will feature expert consultations from key specialty departments, including nephrology, neurology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery and urology. The hospital administration has indicated that this is only the first phase of the rollout, with plans to integrate additional departments in the coming months to provide a more comprehensive range of evening care.
To ensure a seamless experience for patients, Kasturba Hospital is not limiting the extension to consultations alone. The initiative includes the synchronisation of essential support services. During the 5 pm to 7 pm window, patients will also have access to: Radiology services (imaging and scans), laboratory diagnostics (blood tests and pathology), pharmacy services. This integrated approach ensures that a patient can complete their entire clinical cycle—from consultation to diagnostic testing and fetching prescriptions—in a single evening visit.

"By extending our hours, we are ensuring that quality tertiary healthcare is no longer a 'time-off' request away, but a convenient part of a patient's daily routine."
