Karkala, Jan 28: A woman was seriously injured after she fell from a moving private bus and got caught under its wheel near the Mijaru divider on Monday.
The incident occurred when a private bus travelling from Udupi to Beltangady was in motion. Jayanti (63), a resident of Mijaru, who was standing near the bus door, reportedly lost her balance and fell onto the road. She was trapped under the rear wheel of the bus, resulting in her right hand being badly crushed.
Following the incident, Ramakanth Shetty of Karimarukatte immediately rushed the injured woman to the Karkala government hospital in his car for treatment.
