Karkala: Injured family members in Miyar accident show signs of recovery

Karkala, Jan 28: The condition of eight members of the same family, who were seriously injured in a horrific road accident near Miyaru Kambalakross, is steadily improving. They are currently undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital, Manipal.

Hospital sources said that all the injured, including two-year-old Kushal, are responding well to treatment and are on the path to recovery.

The family, which had arrived from Kalaburagi on a trip, suffered a major tragedy in the accident, in which four members lost their lives. The injured identified as Sangeetha, Kavitha, Basavaraj, Kishore, Lakshmi, Jyothi and Jayalakshmi were admitted in critical condition and are now under continuous medical supervision.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that overspeeding and rash driving by the bus driver may have led to the accident. Further investigation is underway.
