Mumbai, Jan 24: Popular television and film actress Mugdha Chaphekar has taken a significant new step in her career by making her debut in the OTT space, marking a fresh chapter after years of success on the big and small screens.
Mugdha appears in the latest episode of Hungama OTT’s Harsatein Season 3, titled “Halla Bol,” which premiered on January 22, 2026. The episode places her at the center of a gripping, women-driven narrative set against the backdrop of power and politics.

In the series, Mugdha portrays Jyoti, a politically sidelined wife trapped in an abusive and patriarchal marriage. Initially reduced to a mere pawn, Jyoti is pushed into contesting an election to serve the ambitions of others. As the story progresses, her suppressed intellect and inner strength begin to emerge. While those around her attempt to claim credit for her rise, Jyoti ultimately breaks free—choosing defiance over submission and courage over silence.
Speaking about her move to digital platforms, Mugdha revealed that OTT had always been on her radar. “I was always open to exploring OTT, but I was waiting for the right platform and the right story. When Hungama OTT came to me with such a powerful, women-centric narrative, I felt this was the right moment,” she said.
She also shared warm memories from the shoot, particularly about working with her co-star Sanam. “It was a wonderful experience. Sanam is not just an exceptional dancer but a deeply committed actor. Off-camera, we often danced for fun during breaks, which really helped create a relaxed and positive atmosphere on set,” she added.
The latest season of Harsatein delves into the unspoken desires and emotional conflicts hidden beneath calm surfaces, weaving stories shaped by fractured relationships, social expectations, and acts of quiet resistance.
Mugdha Chaphekar began her acting journey as a child artist in the Bollywood film Aazmayish. She later entered television with Kya Mujhse Dosti Karoge in 2006 and went on to gain widespread recognition for her portrayal of Princess Sanyogita in Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan and Prachi Arora Kohli in the long-running hit Kumkum Bhagya.
With her OTT debut, Mugdha adds another versatile performance to her repertoire, signaling a confident embrace of new-age storytelling.
