Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 9: Kerala police have arrested a woman for allegedly inflicting brutal physical abuse on her five-year-old stepdaughter by burning her private parts with a hot steel spatula.

The shocking incident came to light after the child’s anganwadi teacher noticed that the girl was struggling to sit during class. Alarmed by her condition, the teacher informed the local police, who immediately visited the spot and examined the child.

Based on the findings, police registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice Act. The accused woman was taken into custody on Thursday.

According to police, the woman is a native of Bihar, while the child’s father is a citizen of Nepal and is employed at a hotel. The minor has since been placed under the care of the Child Welfare Committee.

Further investigation is underway.

My God,is she a woman?Would she do the same to her child?Best is do the same procedure to her to punish her. Then she will understand how it is.Hope child will not be more effected and further treatment should be made. Why noone noticed it or informed Police previously?Child should not be given back to her in future.Real stepmother as in book written.Arrest and keep inside for years.
