Order reserved on victims’ bid to join Luthra brothers’ anticipatory bail case

Mapusa, Jan 8: The Mapusa Additional Sessions Court on Wednesday reserved its order for January 13 on an application filed by the victims’ family seeking permission to intervene in the anticipatory bail applications of Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra.

The case pertains to a police complaint alleging forgery of documents and cheating of authorities. During the hearing, counsel for the Luthra brothers strongly opposed the intervention plea, arguing that the victims’ family has no locus standi to participate in the anticipatory bail proceedings.

The accused contended that the alleged offences relate solely to the forgery of documents and cheating of government authorities, and therefore, the victims’ family is not directly affected by the alleged acts. On these grounds, they urged the court to reject the intervention application.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its decision, which is expected to be pronounced on January 13.
