CM Sawant defends Unity Mall, questions opposition

Panaji, Jan 6: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday defended the Unity Mall project, asserting that all required clearances have been obtained and questioning who is opposing the initiative and for what reasons.

“There are certain parties that do not want such infrastructure to be developed in Goa,” CM Sawant said, referring to the ongoing opposition to the project.

Highlighting its community-oriented focus, he said the first floor of the Unity Mall will be dedicated to Self-Help Groups (SHGs), providing them with a platform to showcase and sell their products.

The chief minister also invited those opposing the project to come forward and engage in direct discussions with him to address their concerns.
