Raichur woman buys refrigerator by saving Gruha Lakshmi aid

Raichur, Jan 3: Benefitting from the state government’s flagship guarantee programme, the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, a homemaker in Raichur has purchased a refrigerator by prudently saving the monthly assistance she received.

Hanumamma Nadulamani, a resident of Uppaladoddi village in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district, set aside the Rs 2,000 credited every month under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme without spending it. After receiving assistance for a total of 23 instalments, she utilised the accumulated amount to buy a refrigerator.

Speaking after the purchase, Hanumamma said the appliance has made daily life easier for her family, enabling safe storage of food items and improving household convenience. She noted that the Gruha Lakshmi scheme has brought a significant positive change in the lives of women.

Expressing her gratitude, Hanumamma thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar for implementing the welfare scheme.
