‘Mark’ with Sudeep could change my film trajectory: Actress Roshini Prakash

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 29: Actress Roshini Prakash, who appears alongside Sudeep in the film Mark, says the project could redefine her cinematic journey.

Speaking about her role, Roshini said, “I play a police officer working with Sudeep. Together, we solve a case, and the story revolves around the background and the details of that case. In Mark, the female police officer is not a conventional cop. The nature of the character is entirely different. Officers appear in the map, but they don’t wear uniforms.”

She added, “This is a role that comes naturally within the film. It appears only as much as the story demands. The character might feature roughly 30 percent of the movie. Most of my previous work has been in content-driven films, but limiting myself to that makes it harder to reach a wider audience. Acting in commercial films increases recognition.”

Roshini spoke about the opportunity of working with Sudeep: “We all grew up watching Sudeep’s films. Acting alongside someone of his stature is an opportunity to change the graph of my career. I’ve learned a lot here. I could see firsthand the love and dedication Sudeep brings to his work. Working with Sathyajyothi Films, one of the biggest Tamil production houses, was a unique experience.”

Reflecting on her previous work, she said, “My earlier film Murphy gave me considerable popularity. People now recognise me for that role wherever I go, which shows the reach of the movie. This has opened up many opportunities. In Naakutanti, a film featuring four different female characters, I play the lead in one of the stories. The film, directed by Gautam, will release soon. Two other projects are at the discussion stage. This year has been extremely successful for me, and I hope to take on more substantial films. I am looking forward to the right opportunities.”
