Panaji, Dec 28: Mandrem Police have booked a foreign national for illegally residing in Goa after she was found without valid travel documents in the Arambol area of Pernem taluka.
Police registered Crime No. 117/2025 on December 27, 2025, at 6.01 p.m. under Sections 21 and 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigner Act, 2025. The case was filed following a complaint lodged by Police Sub-Inspector Pratik Garudi, who is attached to the Mandrem Police Station.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Sarmin Bibi (32), wife of Janatoor Shiddar and a native of Bangladesh, was detected at around 5.35 p.m. in a parking area at Arambol. During verification, she reportedly failed to produce a valid passport or visa.

Police stated that preliminary inquiries revealed she had entered India illegally and was staying in the country without authorisation, in violation of immigration laws. She was taken into custody at 6.11 p.m., and officers confirmed that all procedures and Supreme Court guidelines were strictly followed during the arrest.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of her entry and duration of stay in the region.
