Mangaluru: 21st Shaneshchara Mahapooja held by SVT Mat Friends

Mangaluru, Dec 26: The 21st annual Shaneshchara Mahapooja organised by SVT Mat Friends was held with great devotion and grandeur on Saturday, December 20, at a specially erected grand pavilion in front of the Sri Venkataramana Temple on Rathabeedi.

The pooja was conducted under the priesthood of Vedamurthy Vaikuntha Bhatt, following traditional Vedic rituals, in the presence of a large number of devotees.

Girish Bhatt of the Balambhatt family and noted dental specialist Dr Arjun Nayak were the chief guests. The programme was also attended by the organisation’s honorary president Vamana Pai, former presidents Arun Padiyar and Venkataraya Shenai, association president Arun D Rao and member R Ganapati Baliga.

On the occasion, senior GSB Vedic scholar Vedamurthy Jodumath Sri Achyuth Bhatt and Rajyotsava awardee Arjun Bhandarkar were felicitated with mementoes in recognition of their contributions. As part of the social service initiative, free hearing aids were distributed to 16 children with the support of donors.

Prasada and anna santarpane were served to devotees. The programme concluded with the staging of the Tulu drama “Ennane Kathe” by Devadas Kapikad, which was well received by the audience.

Members of the association played a key role in the success of the event. The stage programme was compered by Sandhya R Kamath, Vijayalakshmi Nayak, Sujeer Vijetha Nayak, Ashwini S Shenai, Kedar Shenai and Vinod Kamath, who coordinated the proceedings effectively.
