Mangaluru, Dec 22: The 49th Tulu Nadu Kesari and Tulu Nadu Kumar wrestling championship, organised by the Dakshina Kannada District Amateur Wrestling Association (R), Mangaluru, was held on December 21, 2025, at the Endurance Zone of Yenepoya University, Deralakatte.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by U T Iftikhar Fareed, Mamata Gatti, V Ibrahim Nadupadavu, Arun Prabha, Ravindra Shetty Ullidottu, Prakash Poojary Garodi, Sujith K V, M Sureshchandra Shetty, Dilraj Alva, Prashanth Shetty, Rohidas Bangera, Arun Puthran, Zulfikar Ali, Naveen Karkera, Raviraj Shetty, Zeeshan Ali, Sudhir, Shivaraj and several others.


The valedictory ceremony was held in the presence of K T Suvarna, Chandrahasa Adyanthaya Kuthar Guttu, Prasad Rai Kallimar, Pradeep D’Souza, Jitendra Shetty Talapady Guttu, Sandeep Puthran Ullal, along with all members of the Dakshina Kannada District Amateur Wrestling Association.
In the major title events, Nataraj won the prestigious Tulu Nadu Kesari 2025 title, while Nashal Ahmad clinched the Tulu Nadu Kumar 2025 title. Manoj Bengre secured the Master Shivaji 2025 title, and Deeksha was crowned Tulu Nadu Kuvari 2025. In the overall team championships, Sri Veera Bharathi Vyayama Shala emerged winners in the men’s category, while Shivaji Physical and Cultural Institute, Bolara, bagged the overall team title in the women’s category.
In the men’s category, results were as follows: In the 36 kg Master Shivaji category, Nihal finished second, while Varada Gowda and Dakshak secured third place. In the 42 kg category, Akshay won first place, followed by Adish in second and Suraj and Mallesh in third. In the 46 kg category, Santosh secured first place, Parashurama finished second, and Namish and Faran placed third. In the 50 kg category, Prajwal took first place, Prithviraj second, and Kumar and Murali third. In the 57 kg category, Babu emerged first, Madan second, and Veerappa and Ranganath third. In the 61 kg Tulu Nadu Kumar category, Prajwal finished second, while Manoj and Mubashir secured third place. In the 65 kg category, Akash won first place, Manju second, and Keerthan and Ashwin third. In the 74 kg Tulu Nadu Kesari category, Gagan and Obalesh finished second, while Obalesh and Dhanush secured third place. In the 86 kg category, Rakesh clinched first place, Chirag second, and Krishnaraj and Prateek third. In the +86 kg category, Rakshit emerged first, Ghanashyam second, and Avish and Adi placed third.
In the women’s category, in the 37 kg division, Kshama secured first place, Gnanika second, and Princita third. In the 44 kg category, Neha finished first, Varsha second, and Manisha third. In the 48 kg Tulu Nadu Kuvari category, Anusha secured second place, while Tanushree and Yasha finished third. In the 53 kg category, Dhruti won first place, Anyu second, and Dhanyashree third. In the 58 kg category, Urmila emerged first, Lavanya second, and Diya third. In the 63 kg category, Aditi secured first place, Latika second, and Poornima third. In the 69 kg category, Sakshi finished first, Disha second, and Shakeera third. In the +69 kg category, Shaza won first place, Hralekh second, and Navyashree secured third place.
