Bengaluru, Dec 9: To cater to the heavy passenger rush during Christmas and New Year holidays, the South Western Railway will operate special trains between Yeshwantpur, Udupi, and Karwar for two round trips. The service will be coordinated with the Konkan Railway Corporation (KRCL).
According to the railways, the special trains are being run to meet the increased passenger demand during the festive season, when many travellers head to towns and tourist destinations.

Train No. 06267 Yeshwantpur–Karwar Express Special will depart from Yeshwantpur at 12 noon on December 24 and 27 (Wednesday and Saturday) and reach Karwar at 6:10 am the following day.
Train No. 06268 Karwar–Yeshwantpur Express Special will leave Karwar at 12 noon on December 25 and 28 (Thursday and Sunday) and reach Yeshwantpur at 4:30 am the next day.
The trains will halt at Chikkabanavara, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Mookambika Road, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murudeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, and Ankola stations.
Each train will run with 21 coaches, including one 2-tier AC, three 3-tier AC, 12 sleeper class, three general second-class coaches, and two luggage-cum-brake van/disabled-friendly coaches.
Advance reservation for Train No. 06268 opened on December 7 at all passenger reservation systems (PRS), IRCTC website, and online portals. Passengers can check availability and book tickets via the IRCTC website, railway station counters, or the NTES app.
The railways has urged passengers to plan their travel and make bookings in advance, given the expected surge in travellers during the holiday season.
