Mumbai, Dec 5: The filming of the much-anticipated crime drama “Daayra” has officially concluded, and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says the experience felt like closing a deeply meaningful chapter.
“Daayra pushed me into a space I’ve been wanting to explore for a while. It’s intense, consuming, and incredibly rewarding. Wrapping this film feels like closing a powerful chapter, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience it,” Kareena shared.
On December 4, she also posted a behind-the-scenes photo on social media, playfully noting how director Meghna Gulzar had taken her “from Khalapur to Bhiwandi to Virar,” reflecting the film’s demanding and dynamic shoot schedule.

Director Meghna Gulzar said the project required “honesty, precision, and emotional courage” from every member of the team.
“Watching this team come together so seamlessly has been nothing short of gratifying. As we wrap, I feel immense pride in what we’ve created,” she stated.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who stars alongside Kareena, described the experience as creatively stimulating:
“Working on Daayra has been creatively invigorating. The character, the world, and Meghna’s vision challenged me in all the right ways. I’m excited for viewers to step into this universe with us.”
Set in a complicated world shaped by crime and justice, Daayra places its lead actors in layered, high-impact roles. Prithviraj plays a police inspector, while Kareena essays a bold, enigmatic character central to the film’s emotional depth and dramatic tension.
Amrita Pandey, CEO of Junglee Pictures, expressed her excitement as the project wrapped:
“Reuniting with Meghna for the third time has been incredibly special. This film goes far beyond a typical crime drama, digging deep into truth and justice in a way that will stay with audiences.”
Daayra marks a significant collaboration between Junglee Pictures, known for critically acclaimed films like Raazi, Talvar, and Badhaai Do, and Pen Studios, led by Dr. Jayantilal Gada, the powerhouse behind blockbusters such as RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Co-written by Yash and Sima along with Meghna Gulzar, the film explores the age-old conflict between crime, punishment, and the pursuit of justice — promising a gripping cinematic experience.
