Udupi: Offertory boxes stolen from temple in Malpe

Udupi, Dec 4: Thieves broke the latch of the door at Shri Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple in Kalmadi Bobbaryapade of Kodavoor village and stole two offertory boxes containing around Rs 7,000 in cash.

Umesh Rao, a resident of Katyayini Nagar, is the supervisor of the temple, where daily puja is conducted only in the mornings.

The theft is suspected to have taken place between 8 am on December 2 and 6.30 am on December 3, according to the complaint registered at the Malpe police station.
