Tirupati, Dec 2: Police in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, have launched an investigation following the grim discovery of three decomposed bodies—a couple and their young child—inside a home in the Indiramma houses colony, Daminedu area, on the city's outskirts. Neighbours alerted the Tiruchanur police after a strong, foul smell began emanating from the house.
Officers broke open the door and found the bodies of Satyaraj (30s), his partner Ponnagutte Nayagi (30s), and their three-year-old son, Manish. Satyaraj was discovered hanging, while the bodies of Nayagi and Manish were found near the washroom.

The presence of a poison bottle in the house has led police to suspect a tragic murder-suicide, suggesting Satyaraj may have poisoned his partner and son before taking his own life.
Locals reported that the trio, who were daily wage labourers and originally hailed from Gudiyattam in Tamil Nadu, had not been seen since November 22. Preliminary police investigation indicates Satyaraj was in a live-in relationship with Nayagi after leaving his wife, and the couple moved to Tirupati approximately three months ago.
Circle Inspector Sunil Kumar confirmed the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police in Andhra Pradesh are also continuing their separate probe into the recent suicide of Madhuri Sahithibai (27), the daughter of senior IAS officer Chinnarammudu, in Guntur district. Madhuri was found hanging in the bathroom of her room at the family's Tadepalli residence on Sunday night.
She had entered into an inter-caste 'love marriage' with Rajesh Naidu in March 2025, but the marriage reportedly became distressing within three months, with Madhuri accusing her husband of harassment. She had returned to her parents' home two months prior to her death.
Police have registered a case based on a complaint from Madhuri's family, who allege that Rajesh was harassing her for additional dowry. The investigation is active.
