Srinagar, Nov 30: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel suffered burn injuries on Sunday following an accident at their camp in Murran, Pulwama. After receiving initial medical attention at the District Hospital Pulwama, both injured jawans were moved to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital for specialised treatment.

According to officials, the injuries occurred due to a malfunction involving a heating device inside the camp. One of the personnel sustained multiple burns, while the other suffered relatively minor injuries. Both are reported to be in stable condition, and authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident.

CRPF troops, deployed across Jammu, the Kashmir Valley and working jointly with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, continue to play a crucial role in maintaining security and public order. Their responsibilities include participating in counter-terrorism operations and supporting law enforcement across the region.

The Army secures the 740-km Line of Control, while the Border Security Force (BSF) is tasked with guarding the 240-km international border. Both forces are actively engaged in preventing infiltration, stopping cross-border smuggling and countering drone-based activities allegedly facilitated by terror groups with external support.

Within the hinterland, security agencies—including the J&K Police and CRPF—continue operations targeting terrorists, overground workers (OGWs), sympathisers, as well as networks involved in drug trafficking, hawala transactions and other illegal financial activities. These efforts form a broader strategy to dismantle the entire ecosystem that funds and sustains terrorism in the region, moving beyond the sole pursuit of armed militants.
