New Delhi, Nov 28: A 35-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly murdered his live-in partner in Delhi’s Chhawla area and left her body on the rear seat of a car, choosing to go back to sleep as he was too drunk to dispose of it, police said on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Radha (44), while the accused is Virender Singh, who police said lived with her for the past two years despite being married and having children.

According to DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh, the incident took place on Tuesday night when the couple was drinking together. An argument allegedly broke out after Radha asked Virender to stop drinking. “They had a fight… There were marks and abrasions on the deceased’s face. When questioned, the accused said he killed the woman by strangulating her,” the DCP said.
Police said Virender called two of his friends for help, and together they shifted the body to his Maruti Swift before the friends left. Too drunk to continue, Virender allegedly left the body in the car and returned to his room to sleep.
On Wednesday morning, around 9.15 am, a neighbour spotted the body inside the parked car and alerted the Chhawla police station. Officers rushed to the spot and found the vehicle with the body lying on the rear seat.
Investigators said Radha had earlier lost her husband to cancer, and her father — who had moved to the US — had also passed away. Virender had reportedly convinced her to sell her Palam property and used the money to buy the three-storey house in his name, where the couple was living. Police also recovered Rs 21 lakh in cash from the house.
A case of murder has been registered and further investigation is underway, police added.
