Bulandshahr man killed in wedding celebratory gunfire; accused on the run

Bulandshahr, Nov 28: Tragedy struck in Khanpur village of the Chola area on Thursday night when Dharmendra Bhati (36) succumbed to injuries after being hit by a bullet fired during celebratory gunfire at a wedding.

Police identified the accused as Sugreev, who allegedly discharged a licensed pistol during the celebrations, causing fatal injuries to Dharmendra. The victim was rushed to a hospital in Noida, where he later died during treatment.

A formal complaint was lodged by the victim’s family, following which a case has been registered, confirmed Superintendent of Police (SP) City, Shankar Prasad. Police teams have been deployed to apprehend the accused and seize the firearm, while further investigations are underway.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against any irresponsible use of firearms during celebrations.
