Udupi: Blood donation camp held at SMVITM

Udupi, Nov 27: The NSS-YRC unit of the Sode Group of Institutions, in collaboration with the KMC Blood Centre, successfully organized a blood donation camp on November 25. The event was inaugurated by Dr Sachin S Bhat, dean R&C, SMVITM, in the presence of guest Dr Deep Madkaiker, assistant professor, Department of IHBT KMC, Kasturba Hospital Blood Centre, Manipal and guest of honor Raghavendra Rao, HDFC operations manager, Udupi.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students, with over 149 individuals voluntarily donating blood. Their selfless contributions reflected a strong commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian values.

Dr Sachin S Bhat emphasized the importance of blood donation in saving lives and praised the NSS–YRC unit for successfully organizing the event. He encouraged students to actively take part in such noble initiatives and contribute positively to society. Dr Deep Madkaiker highlighted the life-saving value of blood donation and expressed his gratitude to the institution’s management for their support in facilitating the camp. Raghavendra Rao motivated the students by reminding them that even a small act of kindness can make a life-saving difference for someone in need.

The efforts of the NSS-YRC unit in organizing the blood donation camp demonstrate the institution’s commitment to social service and community welfare. The collaboration with the KMC Blood Centre ensured the smooth execution of the event and the safe collection of blood units.
