Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 15: The campus of St Agnes School CBSE buzzed with excitement and cheerful smiles as students and staff gathered to celebrate Children’s Day with great enthusiasm on November 14 in the school auditorium. The morning radiated joy and laughter as children arrived in colourful attire, breaking away from their regular uniforms and filling the school with a festive spirit. The celebration was also a tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose birthday is observed as Children’s Day, honouring his deep love and affection for children.

The celebration began with a meaningful prayer service conducted by the teachers, setting a serene and reflective tone for the day. Through symbolic representations and heartfelt prayers, the values of joy, peace, love, kindness, health, and wisdom were beautifully brought to life. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and reverence as teachers prayed for god’s blessings upon every child, wishing them happiness and fulfilment in all that they do.

Tr Reena and Tr Vindhya extended a warm welcome address to the gathering and also compered the programme with grace and enthusiasm. The spotlight of the day belonged to the students - the real VIPs and the vibrant spirit of St Agnes School CBSE.

A special welcome was extended to the head girl, Priyanka Correa, assistant head girl, Aaradhana Shetty and the student cabinet, the dynamic leaders who inspire their peers with dedication and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion a special floral welcome was presented by principal Sr Maria Sarika AC to the head girl, Priyanka, and the school cabinet, while vice principal, Sr Meena Fernandes AC extended a floral welcome to the assistant head girl, Aardhana Shetty and the deputies, adding warmth and elegance to the occasion.

To remind everyone of the deeper purpose behind the occasion, Tr Shanthi and Tr Sumana presented a thoughtful reflection on the significance of Children’s Day, highlighting that children, with their innocence, curiosity and dreams, are the true strength and hope of the nation. The day served as a reminder to nurture their talents, encourage big dreams, and celebrate the joy, energy and promise they bring to the world.

The celebration that followed was brimming with laughter and joy as the teachers took the stage with a series of entertaining performances prepared specially for their beloved students. The fusion dance set the tone for the day, bursting with colour, rhythm, and excitement.

The programme continued with a lively comedy skit that had the students bursting into laughter, followed by the hilarious “Funny Dance,” where teachers performed in amusing styles, much to the delight of the young audience.

Adding to the fun was the lazy dance, where the teachers humorously showcased “the art of standing still,” leaving the students amused and applauding in delight. The celebration also included a prize distribution ceremony, where students who excelled in the ‘Questival’ 2025, intra-school competition were honoured with medals and certificates.

The principal warmly addressed students from the tiny blossoms of grade 1 to the confident leaders of grade 10, expressing her joy on seeing their smiling faces. She reminded them that the school comes alive because of them and that Children’s Day is not just for fun, but a reminder of their worth. Urging them to grow with goodness, dream with courage, and live with kindness, she affirmed that each child is precious, talented, and loved. She also invited the students to applaud the teachers for presenting a beautiful programme.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Priyanka Correa and Aaradhana Shetty, who expressed gratitude on behalf of all the students to the principal, teachers and support staff in making the day so delightful.

To make the day even more special, students were treated to ice creams and savouries, a gesture that brought smiles to every face.

The celebration was indeed a perfect blend of laughter, learning, and love - a reminder that childhood is the most precious phase of life and that every child is a blessing to be cherished.
