New Delhi, Nov 3: BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Monday mocked Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi after a video showed him fishing in a pond in Begusarai, calling it yet another act in his “reel drama.”
“Rahul Gandhi is busy fishing, but all the fish have already slipped out of his hands. There’s nothing left for him to catch—neither fish nor votes,” Hussain said, accusing the Congress leader of focusing on social media optics rather than real politics.
Speaking to reporters, Hussain added, “He makes reels for social media while his vote bank has been wiped out.”

Backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier comments, the BJP leader said, “The RJD forced the Congress to accept its leader as the Chief Ministerial face at gunpoint. The Prime Minister rightly exposed the helplessness of the Congress in Bihar.”
Hussain also took a moment to congratulate the Indian women’s cricket team for their historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 victory, where they defeated South Africa by 52 runs in Navi Mumbai. “The entire country is celebrating their incredible achievement,” he said.
On reports of foreign diplomats visiting Bihar to observe the election process, Hussain remarked, “The world is watching Bihar’s elections closely. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been serving the people for over two decades and will continue to do so.”
He further praised PM Modi’s rally in Bihar, saying, “Yesterday, only two events captured India’s attention — PM Modi’s rally and the women’s cricket team’s triumph. The Prime Minister’s roadshow drew an unprecedented crowd, proving that the NDA is on course to return to power.”
Responding to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s demand for a ban on the RSS, Hussain dismissed it as a “publicity stunt.”
“No one takes him seriously. He targets an organisation that stands for national unity and welfare. The people will respond to his baseless statements,” he said.
Yadav had earlier invoked Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 1948 ban on the RSS, alleging the group’s involvement in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination — a claim the BJP continues to reject.
