Kolkata, Nov 3: A 14-year-old girl studying in Class 7 was allegedly gangraped by three youths in Kolkata’s Dum Dum area on Saturday evening while returning home from tuition classes.
According to police, one of the accused, who was known to the girl, lured her to a nearby park where two others joined him. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, BJP activists staged a protest outside the Dum Dum police station on Sunday, demanding stringent action against the culprits and justice for the survivor.
Police officials have assured that the investigation will be carried out swiftly and that the victim will be provided necessary medical and psychological support.
