Mangaluru, Nov 1: St Agnes School (CBSE) celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 1.
The programme began with a soulful prayer service, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for peace, harmony, and prosperity in the state. The melodious voices of the students created a divine atmosphere and set a perfect tone for the celebration.
After the prayer service, a beautiful welcome dance was presented by talented students of grade 7. The performance was a visual treat and set a joyful tone for the rest of the programme.










































Following the welcome dance, Anvi of grade 7 delivered the welcome speech. She warmly greeted the chief guest of the day, Dora Lavina D’Souza, a dedicated Kannada teacher from St Agnes School. She was warmly welcomed with a potted plant by our vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC. Anvi also extended a heartfelt welcome to our PTA vice president Pradeep Misquith, vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC, all the teachers, and dear students.
The inaugural ceremony was conducted by the guests, who were escorted to the stage by students dressed in traditional Yakshagana costumes. They lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the auspicious beginning of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration.
The students of grade 4 and 7 presented a beautiful Kannada song that added charm to the celebration. Their sweet and melodious voices created a joyful atmosphere and filled everyone’s hearts with love and pride for our state, Karnataka. The song highlighted the beauty of the Kannada language.
Harshal of grade 4 spoke about the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava. She explained why we celebrate this special day and reminded everyone of the importance of respecting and promoting the Kannada language and culture. Her speech inspired all the students to take pride in being part of Karnataka.
A magnificent Kannada dance drama was presented by the students of grades 4 and 7, artistically showcasing the lives of renowned poets, valiant freedom fighters, and the vibrant dance forms of Karnataka. Their performance was a visual treat, beautifully reflecting the rich culture and heritage of the state.
The chief guest, Dora Fernandes, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. She spoke about the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava, reminding everyone why we celebrate this special day. She explained the naming of our state as Karnataka and highlighted the remarkable contributions of great Kannada poets and writers. She encouraged everyone to take pride in speaking Kannada and to uphold the rich culture and traditions of Karnataka. She also appreciated the teachers and students for organizing and presenting such a beautiful and meaningful programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, delivered by the student Maithili She thanked the chief guest, sisters, teachers, and students for making the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration a grand success. Her words of gratitude brought the joyful programme to a graceful end.
The celebration concluded with the melodious rendition of the Naada Geethe, 'Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate'. The hall echoed with patriotic spirit as everyone sang with great pride and respect for the land of Karnataka. The entire programme beautifully reflected the unity, culture, and pride of Karnataka. It was indeed a memorable occasion that inspired everyone to cherish and uphold the beauty of the Kannada language.
