Mumbai, Oct 28: The much-anticipated film ‘Dacoit’, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, has been rescheduled from December 25, 2025, to March 19, 2026, for a pan-India theatrical release.
Adivi Sesh shared the new release date on X (formerly Twitter) with a poster, writing:
“Ee Saari Mamulga undadhu There’s NO LOOKING BACK #DACOIT This UGADI MARCH 19th 2026 in Theaters WORLDWIDE.”
The film is now set to release during Gudi Padwa and the extended Eid weekend, aiming for a grand festive debut. According to reports, the postponement was due to Sesh sustaining an injury on set while filming an action sequence.

Alongside Sesh and Thakur, director-actor Anurag Kashyap will play a pivotal role. The cast also includes Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla.
‘Dacoit’ tells the story of an angry convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, who betrayed him. His meticulously crafted plan transforms the narrative into a tense, emotional saga of love, betrayal, and vengeance.
The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, with story and screenplay by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Filming is underway in Hyderabad, with additional schedules planned in Maharashtra.
This project marks Shaneil Deo’s directorial debut and is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. Post-production is currently in progress, gearing the film for its pan-India release.
Adivi Sesh, who debuted in 2010 with Karma, gained recognition for his antagonistic roles in films like Panjaa, Balupu, and Baahubali: The Beginning. He later established himself as a leading man with successes such as Dongaata, Kshanam, Ami Thumi, Goodachari, Evaru, Major, and HIT: The Second Case.
