Sullia, Oct 27: A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver faced disciplinary action after he allegedly refused to stop the bus at the designated passenger drop-off point and failed to open the automatic doors, causing distress among commuters.

The accused driver, identified as Gafur, was operating a KSRTC bus equipped with automatic doors on the Sullia–Koinadu route. On Sunday, October 26, while driving from Koinadu towards Sullia, he reportedly repeated his earlier misconduct by halting the bus away from the usual stop and refusing to open the doors promptly, leaving passengers frustrated.

Angry commuters lodged complaints with the KSRTC officials in Puttur and Sullia immediately after the incident. Responding swiftly, senior officials intervened and removed Gafur from his assigned route. He has since been reassigned to operate another service as a disciplinary measure.
