Kamala Harris hints at possible 2028 presidential run

Washington, Oct 26: Former US Vice-President Kamala Harris has signaled she may not be done with presidential politics, suggesting she could “possibly” make another bid for the White House.

In an interview, Harris expressed confidence that America will one day elect a woman president — and hinted that she might still be in the running. “I am not done,” she said. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones.”

Her remarks, the clearest yet about her political future since her 2024 loss to Donald Trump, indicate that she is considering a comeback in 2028. When asked whether she might be that future woman president, Harris replied, “Possibly,” though she stressed that she has not made a final decision.

The former Vice-President dismissed concerns about lagging in early polls, saying she has never relied on polling to determine her path. “If I listened to polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first or second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she said.

Harris has recently returned to the spotlight with her memoir 107 Days, which recounts her experience stepping in as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race.

As Democrats regroup after Trump’s decisive victory, speculation has already begun about the party’s 2028 contenders. Names like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and Representative Ro Khanna have surfaced as potential hopefuls.

Meanwhile, the Trump White House dismissed Harris’s renewed political comments. “When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should’ve taken the hint,” said spokeswoman Abigail Jackson, adding that Americans “don’t care about her absurd lies.”

Despite criticism, Harris appears undeterred — keeping her options open and her sights set firmly on the nation’s highest office once again.
