Mumbai, Oct 24: Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, known for her dedication to fitness and healthy living, recently opened up about her diet and how her eating habits have evolved over the years. Speaking in a podcast with nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary, Samantha shared that she consumes around 100 grams of protein a day despite weighing just 50 kilograms.

“I take 100 grams of protein and I am 50 kg,” Samantha said, explaining that her meals are designed to help her stay strong, healthy, and energised.

Nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary, speaking on the same podcast, said that an average Indian woman weighing around 55 to 60 kilograms should consume 60 to 80 grams of protein daily. She explained that this can be achieved through a combination of paneer, curd, and lentils, or with the addition of good-quality protein supplements.

Samantha also shared how her relationship with food changed after she was diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune condition that attacks the muscles. Since then, she has been following an anti-inflammatory diet focused on foods that heal her body.

Her diet includes cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts, along with healthy fats such as ghee and cold-pressed oils. She also adds anti-inflammatory ingredients like turmeric, celery, and acai berries to her meals.

The actor mentioned that she completely avoids gluten and even stays away from some otherwise healthy foods that don’t suit her body, such as spinach and kale.

Samantha’s disciplined approach to eating reflects her belief in mindful nourishment and self-care, inspiring many to pay attention to how food impacts both physical and mental health.
